Physico-Chemical WWTP / Waste Water Technology

Physical / Chemical Wastewater Treatment Plant for Industrial Effluents

As a plant construction specialist and a certified specialist according to the Federal Water Act (WHG), OKO-tech designs and builds compact physico-chemical treatment plants for industrial effluents named OKO-CPA 4.0. Depending on the industry-specific and water law requirements, OKO-tech will design the treatment plant that suits you best. Our customers get turnkey system solutions for the treatment of industrial wastewaters – an advantage we can offer as full-range supplier.

Our waste water treatment systems are being refined continuously – we will optimize processes for every requirement. Our systems will treat the water in such as way that it can be discharged into the sewer afterwards in line with the legal requirements.

Some examples for wastewaters that can be treated by OKO-tech WWTPs:

  • wastewater containing mineral oils (oil interceptors)
  • wastewater containing grease (grease interceptors, emulsion breaking systems)
  • wash waters and degreasing baths containing emulsions
  • cooling lubricant emulsions (emulsion breaking systems)
  • wastewaters containing paint (paint-coagulation, flotation plants)
  • wastewaters containing heavy metals (heavy-metal precipitation in batch plants and continuous-flow plants)

Wastewater-free operation thanks to the reuse of the clear water as process water is just another option provided by our space-saving and efficient waste water treatment systems. This method will save water and energy costs and pay for itself very quickly. Our treatment systems for effluents are in accordance with the EU requirements for the "Best Available Technology (BAT). Please use the form below to download several application examples.

Vital components for effluent treatment are mobile oil-water separators, flotation plants, emulsion breaking systems als well as evaporators. Our space-saving waste water treatment plants can be used for neutralisation, precipitation, flocculation, detoxification, purification and treatment of aqueous wastes. Chemical-free wastewater treatment is also possible with our processes.

Separating the individual raw materials suits the purpose of economic and cost-saving recycling of these resources. During sludge conditioning, for example, the sludges will be dewatered, thus reducing the total weight of the waste significantly – which will lower disposal costs.

Our systems meet the requirements for integration into an overall system control in terms of Industry 4.0. The applied treatment processes as well as the used components take into account the requirements of the German AwSV (Ordinance on Installations for the Handling of Substances Hazardous to Waters). Moreover, they received a positive assessment for the use in physico-chemical WWTPs that are subject to the German Störfallverordnung (Major Accident Hazards Regulations).

Components of the OKO-tech WWTP OKO-CPA 4.0.

For the necessary separation of coarse material from liquid wastes, we provide open or closed rotary sieves called OKO-rosi featuring integrated sensor technology and automated removal of the unwanted material. The new generation OKO-rosi II is totally enclosed so that gaseous emissions according to the German TA Luft (Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control) can be captured directly at their source. It features continuous removal of the separated material into a collection container with a throughput of up to 40 m³/h. As an option, OKO-rosi can also detect free oil phases and adjust the pH value.

The OKO-select tanks are specially designed for physico-chemical WWTPs. Thanks to their tricanter function and their design (small diameter, relatively large height), they ensure optimum physical separation of the three phases oil, water, and sludge. The tanks have a nominal capacity of 29 m³ and are equipped with an extensive sensor technology which provides all relevant data to the control system of the overall WWTP. Tank filling and selective removal of the phases oil, water, and sludge can be carried out completely automatically.

The flotation systems OKO-aquaclean form the heart of the physico-chemical WWTPs OKO-CPA 4.0. Several treatment processes for industrial wastewater contaminated by oil and heavy metals are integrated in one compact unit. The modular design allows the separation of light liquids, flotation, demulsification and the precipitation of heavy metals.

They are available in different sizes and equipment versions with flows between 100 l/h and 24,000 l/h. Sensors detect the wastewater properties and the respective treatment is optimized accordingly. The clear water quality is also monitored. The treated wastewater can be indirectly discharged or reused, depending on the application. The OKO-aquaclean flotation systems meet the requirements of Industry 4.0.

Separation of problematic pollutants

In order to separate problematic pollutants and water successfully, you can use various methods. For a safe and economical wastewater treatment, the necessary processes and procedures are coordinated with each other in a customer-specific and target-oriented manner. Thanks to our modular system solutions and our extensive prefabrication, the installation time on site is reduced to a minimum. Thus, the investment costs for your plant are reduced directly.

Alternatives to membrane processes

OKO-tech develops optimized solutions when conventional methods show disadvantages. For example, we offer improved alternatives to traditional membrane processes (microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, and reverse osmosis. Membranes are prone to blockages and require complex and expensive purification processes. In addition, they require frequent pump repairs. OKO-tech flotation systems and evaporators provide more cost-effective, energy-saving and better alternatives. The OKO-tech wastewater treatment systems feature numerous refinements.
